A newborn baby has been safely recovered after being taken from her parents' bedroom Thursday morning. People.com reports six day old Kayden Powell was found in a tote bag near a gas station Friday morning. The child was left outdoors, in freezing temperatures, near a West Branch Iowa gas station off Interstate 80. The infant's mother called 911 at about 4:30 Thursday morning after noticing she was missing from his bassinette.
More than 40 law enforcement personnell were mobilized in the search. Acting FBI special agent G.B. Jones told a press conference, "We're all very fortunate this baby is alive."
