Louisiana Mayor Says Councilmember Threatened His Life With Gun Violence
The mayor of Bogalusa, Louisiana says that a councilmember threatened his life during a meeting when someone suggested that they had a loaded gun.
The confrontation during the meeting was all caught on camera.
During the livestream of the council meeting, you can hear arguments amongst those in the room, and then you see Councilwoman Penny Douglas being escorted out of the room.
Before that, you hear someone in the video say that they have a double-barrel shotgun and it is loaded.
Mayor Tyrin Truong posted on social media that he was threatened by a councilmember in the meeting and that he plans to press charges against the person who said it.
According to the post made by Mayor Truong, this may not have been the first threat made towards him because he added, "Violence is -never- the answer and I’m tired of the death threats."
