Ever had a guy come to your door offering to repair something with the materials 'left over' from some other job? Many of these door-to-door repair operations are a scam. The latest one Lafayette Police Department has heard about is a driveway repair scam. Be sure to tell your parents and grandparents that the suspects are targeting older citizens by telling them they can repair the cracks in their driveways. Without providing a price, the suspects repair the driveway and demand payment and the work is reportedly of poor quality. Police are advising citizens to request references and check with the Better Business Bureau as to the validity of the company. Don't just say OK without checking them out. In the cases reported to the police, the suspects claimed to be from Indiana.
