I love riding my bicycle, and now that the weather is starting to be cooler in the mornings and evenings, it's time to to break out my bicycle more often!

I haven't been on an organized ride in a while, as I just usually ride around the neighborhood.  There are a few different cycling clubs/groups in Acadiana, and bicycling is a great way to meet people and get in some exercise.

One of those groups is the Cajun Cyclists.  Their website has a list of routes (with the length of the route noted), some starting from Pack and Paddle and some starting from Magdalen Square in Abbeville. These routes might not be perfect for beginners, as the shortest route listed is approximately 20 miles.

The site does outline a route that will give you a great tour of Downtown Lafayette.

Remember the saying:  we don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.  Get out there and play!
