The KTDY Control Room, The Stuff You Don't Get To See...Until Now

There are always two shows originating from the KTDY control room, the one you hear and the one you don't. The one you don't is always much more amusing.

As most of you know, we just installed a very elaborate state of the art, digital audio storage system. It has taken months, but finally I think the worst is over. We still have hours and hours of work to do, but it's not urgent work. We can take our time over the next few weeks.

However, we are still in the learning, adjusting, get the kinks out mode. Today while you were listening to a song, there were a multitude of people trying to keep that song on the air. In addition to Steve Wiley doing a show, he was getting dressed for a video shoot. One of our digital guys was setting up something on the stream and a salesperson had a question.

What you don't see are the 3 engineers who had just left the room and the video guy with a ton of gear about to move into place to shoot the video with Steve.

All in a room about the size of a bathroom, while you're hearing a little ole song.
