What Is It

We've gotten several answers to what these loops do. We're still not certain of their purpose.

My first thought was that the barrels were installed on the trees to serve as some sort of nesting area for local birds

My friend found this thing when she was a child, back in the 1960s. It was found in a field just off of Johnston Street in Lafayette.

The cases contained the same items: a rope and a piece of sheet metal. Both pieces of sheet metal were bent in the same manner.

Seriously, what is even in this picture?

I had to turn around to look at it again to make certain I was seeing what I was seeing!

I saw an interesting tree in Lafayette today, and I have to try to find out what happened to it. Can you see how most of the tree looks normal, but the tippy-top looks like a separate tree? If you look closely, just under the part that looks new, there are some dry branches, and then the rest of the tree just looks like a regular tree...

I came across this handwritten document in a field case that I get from a friend, and it left me to ponder: what is it?

Is it a token? Is it foreign currency? Is it part of a pirate's booty? What is this coin??

They may be boudin sensors that send a message to the driver's dashboard to alert him or her when nearing a link of boudin

They appear to be bigger than crawfish holes. Any clue as to what is creating them? My brother would like to prevent them in the future, if possible.

We were driving back from New Orleans the other day when I saw this nest and large bird just off of I-10 outside of Kenner.

Last week I had the opportunity to fly in a small plane from Lafayette to Marksville and, along the way, we noticed an interesting design on a pond near Marksville.

I was cleaning up around the barn at my old residence, and I came across this piece of "equipment". Do you know what it is?
