Officials with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office are on the scene after an officer-involved shooting by a sheriff's deputy.

Louisiana State Police will officially be taking over the investigation.

What we do know at this time is that there was a traffic stop that happened on Rue Bon Secours which is off of Highway 93 in the Scott area.

While we don't know the full details we do know that there was an officer-involved shooting and one person from the vehicle was taken to the hospital. That person is in critical condition.

No deputies were injured.
