A Florida fisherman got more than he bargained for while dropping his line off the dock in Summerland Key, Florida.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, "A 35-year-old man fishing off a dock on Flagship Drive, Summerland Key, Florida was reportedly bitten in the foot by a shark at approximately 8 p.m. Friday."

Often we report sharks attacking those that may be in the water, but much more rare is the instance when a shark attacks someone out of the water.

The victim was transported to a medical facility, but his condition is unknown.

So, how did the shark get on the dock, according to CNN, the shark was hooked and reeled in. While on the dock, it bit the angler.

We've had multiple stories regarding incidents with sharks, including an attack on a kayak in Hawaii as well as the spotting of a hammerhead shark off the coast in Pensacola, FL.

Again, just a reminder to always be aware of your surroundings while in or out of the water this summer.

So far, we have seen a number of videos and photos of sharks near the shore, and while we know they are in their natural habitat, we must keep an eye out for them,
