R.I.P. ‘F Troop’ & ‘Mama’s Family’ Star Ken Berry [Videos]
I'm told it takes a talented actor to play the fool. Ken Berry was routinely cast as a buffoon. TMZ reports he has passed away. Before embarking on a TV & film career, Ken served with Star Trek icon Leonard Nimoy in the US army. He played a country bumpkin widower on the "Andy Griffith Show" and the bumbling accidental hero, captain Wilton Parmentor on the '60s sitcom "F Troop." There were multiple TV & movie appearances, most notably his role in "Mama's Family," starring Vickie Lawrence. Ken was athletic. Ken raced motorcycles, and occasionally wrote reviews of new bikes for cycling magazines. He made me laugh! Ken was 85. May he rest in peace.
