(Baldin, Louisiana) - An old Cleco power plant in south Louisiana came tumbling down on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
A video shared by Christian Gil on social media shows a controlled explosion after a short countdown, and then the structure suddenly comes tumbling down.
The structure has been visible to those who drive into Baldwin, Louisiana, for years, and for those who saw it every day for many years, it will take some time to get used to no longer seeing it.
Some on social media reported hearing the loud boom as the detonation was set off by explosives from miles away.
