Eastbound traffic on I-10 was diverted for a short time on Sunday evening near Crowley while police there investigated a crash involving a pedestrian. According to reports, an individual walked from an adjacent roadway into oncoming traffic shortly after 7 PM on Sunday evening.

Crowley Police say the victim, a white male, stepped into traffic from VFW Drive and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The identities of the pedestrian or the driver of the vehicle involved have not been released as of this time.

The victim was taken to a Crowley hospital for emergency treatment and was then airlifted to a regional hospital for additional treatment. The man, described as being in his 50's, was being treated for various injuries although an update on his condition had not been reported as of this writing.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was not injured but according to reports was very shaken up by the incident. So far no charges have been filed but the crash remains under investigation.
