In one Louisiana city, they are really getting into the Christmas spirit by bringing something very cold to the area. Officials in Crowley have transformed the Glady Trahan Tennis Centre into an ice rink for December.

The event, happening for the second year, is called "Rice on Ice"! You have to love the name of the event. What else you will love is that it doesn't cost anything to go ice skating. Yep, that's right, it's a free event, and skates are provided. The ice skating rink will be available for the entire month of December.

One important thing to note when visiting "Rice on Ice" is that you must bring a clean pair of socks to go ice skating.

The tennis courts have been transformed into an ice skating rink at the Tony Robichaux Sports Complex. It's located at 717 West Mill Street in Crowley.

Another important aspect to remember if you want to participate in ice skating is that if you are 17 and under, you must be accompanied by an adult. If you have any questions, you can call 337-788-4100.

Another wonderful aspect of "Rice on Ice," besides being free to get in, is that they are offering hours each day for the whole month of December. With the amazing technology today, it doesn't matter what the temperature might be outside; the rink will stay frozen.

The event is presented by the Clem and Jane Suire Memorial Fund.
