Wild animals are everywhere and an opossum was caught on a security camera chasing a fox through a Baton Rouge neighborhood.

In recent years we've shared photos and videos of bears, coyotes, and even foxes in people's yards, now we have a video of a fox on the run.

For various reasons, more and more wildlife are showing up in places you least expect to see them, but when they do, the animals are often confronted, but rarely by other animals.

Well, in this Baton Rouge neighborhood, off of Highland Road, one opossum made sure not to become the next meal for this fox, so it reversed things when it started to chase the predator.

In a hilarious video that someone got from their yard, you see the fox running from the four-legged animal and it is quite clear that this fox wanted nothing to do with the opossum.

Let this video be a reminder that you need to always be aware of your surroundings while outdoors, even if you are in the middle of a busy city. And if you have pets, remember to always keep an eye on them, even if they are in your fenced-in yard.

In Lafayette, we've reported several coyote sightings from the center of the city, so the threat is always lurking.

Check out his chase between an opossum and a fox in the middle of the night, all while this opossum refused to fall victim.

Disclaimer: We don't know how the chase or night ended for either animal.
