Jennings Police Pull Large Alligator From Swimming Pool

(Jennings, Louisiana) - Police in Jennings were called in to apprehend a large alligator that made its way into a private swimming pool this week.

The Jennings Police Department posted a photo on its social media account showing two officers posing with the alligator, which they restrained after removing it from someone's swimming pool.

A wildlife wrangler was called to the scene to assist police officers in safely capturing and removing the alligator from the pool.

Authorities do want to remind you that in the event you come across an alligator on your property, you should never approach it or try to catch it. Call authorities or Wildlife and Fisheries so the animal can be relocated safely.

If you have kids or pets, never let them get close to an alligator that may be in your pool or yard; they move at a rapid speed, and if anyone is too close, they may be in immediate danger.
