New RV Resort Complete with Marina Coming to South Louisiana
Those who enjoy the RV lifestyle will soon have another option to include when selecting their vacation destinations. Lighthouse Bend has been announced and just based on the preliminary sketches and visualizations that we've seen it promises to be quite an addition to South Louisiana's already popular camping and outdoors scene.
Lighthouse Bend is a tourism development that is currently under construction in Cameron Parish Louisiana. The development is a partnership between the Cameron Parish Police Jury and Venture Global LNG. The plan is to create a "destination" for those who enjoy camping, boating, relaxing on the beach, and of course a lot of great South Louisiana food.
While we have denoted that Lighthouse Bend is a "new" RV resort, the reality is the plans have been in the works for quite a while. As you might imagine the hurricanes of 2020 and the destruction they cause have figured into the timetable of when the facility will be open and available to the public.
This past Tuesday night the members of the Cameron Parish Police Jury held an open house to showcase the work that has been done and to highlight what Lighthouse Bend will become when the project is completed later this summer. Police Jurors noted that the facilities boat launch should be opening later this month with the rest of Lighthouse Bend opening in time for at least part of the summer camping and outdoors season.
Here are some of the visual conceptions created by the principles involved in the project. You'll note the video was released about one year ago. It's taken organizers that long to move past the damage of the hurricanes to get into a position to be able to open in July of 2023.
As you can see those who travel to Lighthouse Bend will have a luxury marina at their disposal. This will not only serve those with boats but the marina will also feature a market, a boardwalk, and an RV resort.
Officials in Cameron Parish hope this new addition will bring even more visitors to the Cameron Parish coast. And with great concept ideas such as this one our "secret shore" will soon become well-known to sportsmen, fishermen, RV enthusiasts, and those who love to relax in no time. It's good to see that despite the destruction of the 2020 storms South Louisiana continues to grow with an eye on the future.
