By 1939 standards, The Wizard of Oz was a movie masterpiece.  However the movie really didn't do well in theaters.  On this, the 75th anniversary of it's release, here are a few facts about the most watched movie in history and a video of mistakes.

- In Baum's book, there were no ruby slippers.  They were silver.  The color of the slippers were changed to have more impact in the film.

- Director Victor Fleming wanted to cut Judy Garland's version of 'Over the Rainbow' because he thought the scene dragged.  The song later won an Oscar for Best Original Song.

- The horses of a different color in the Emerald City scenes were covered in Jell-O powder to change their color.

- Chocolate sauce was used as the Tin Man's oil.

- Toto was paid $125 per week, while the actors who played the Munchkins only got paid $50.

- The Wizard of Oz is the most watched movie of all time according to the Library of Congress.
