Militia Member Threatens His Children: ‘Traitors Get Shot’

A Texas man is under arrest today after threatening his own children with death.

According to a Tweet by CBS News correspondent David Begnaud, after Guy Reffitt heard that the family members of people who participated in the insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6th were turning them in, he threatened his own children with execution.

Reffitt allegedly told his kids, "If you turn me in, you’re a traitor & you know what happens to traitors. Traitors get shot.” He also, according to a Newsweek report, threatened to put a bullet through his daughter's phone if she used it to turn him in.

According to reports, Reffitt is a member of both a Texas militia group and the right-wing 3 Percenters. The FBI report states that weapons were found in his home and that he admitted to buying one on his way to Washington, DC.

I am not certain who reported Reffitt to the authorities or if they found him through cell phone data, but the Karma side of me is hoping that it was one of his family members.

I am guessing that he is now out of the running for the Father of the Year award.
