Makin’ Perfect Bacon
Who doesn't like the sound and smell of bacon sizzling for breakfast or in a good BLT? Chef Donald Link knows there's nothing quite like the perfect crispy, salty slice of bacon. He shares his secret recipe from www.delish.com and Steve Wiley from 99.9 KTDY has his own version of "The perfect piece of bacon."
CHEF DONALD LINK'S PERFECT BACON
Ingredients:
6 slice(s) good-quality bacon
1 cast iron skillet
Directions:
Preheat skillet to a steady medium heat and lay the bacon in the pan so that they cover the bottom without overlapping. When the bacon begins to curl flip over and cook for a few minutes and flip it back over to finish. This helps the bacon cook evenly.
For a meatier bacon cook a couple minutes less, for crispier a couple more. All in all about 5 to 7 minutes.
STEVE WILEY'S PERFECT BACON
Ingredients:
Thick sliced bacon
A Microwave
Directions:
Trim the "extra" fat with scissors.
Put bacon on a plate with double paper towels beneath and above it.
Nuke for 3-to-4 minutes (depending on how many slices) or until it's done to your liking.
Bacon, it's what's for breakfast, any time of day.
