Louisiana Mardi Gras Parade Canceled
A traditional Mardi Gras parade in south Louisiana has been canceled.
We're in Carnival season and many communities are excited about their upcoming Mardi Gras parades, but one small community will be without this year.
It has been announced that Loreauville’s only Mardi Gras parade has been called off this year.
PaPa "Red" Dog Mardi Gras Association announced on social media that they are no longer in the Mardi Gras business, thus leading to the annual Mardi Gras parade in Loreauville being canceled.
It was stated in their post on Facebook, "Our Dad started this to give the kids and their families in the area a chance to experience Mardi Gras when they had no way to get to other cities. We kept it as country, family oriented and fun for all to experience. Enjoy Mardi Gras season, please be safe."
No reason was given by the association for getting out of the Mardi Gras festivities.
