Lauren Daigle Says Grandfather Is Force Behind The Music

Let's hear it for Lafayette's own Lauren Daigle! Three sold out shows coming up at the Heymann Performing Arts Center in Lafayette, two Grammy Awards, seven GMA Dove Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards and four No. 1 singles on the Billboard Christian Airplay and Hot Christian Sons chart. And she credits her Grandfather as the driving force behind it all.

From coast to coast, Acadiana's latest superstar is now showing up on mainstream radio stations and is being labeled the new Adele. Her latest album, 'Look Up Child', released last year, has given Daigle another hit single. 'You Say' is up for Christian Song of the Year on the upcoming Billboard Music Awards. Lauren is also up for Christian Artist of the Year and Christian Album of the Year. She's scheduled to perform along with other artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Sam Smith, Panic!at the Disco and more.

Lauren says her Grandfather was the driving force for her music and her career. He was her best friend. She put recording her latest album on hold to be with him during his last days. Just a few days after his passing, she was back in the studio. The love he left her can be heard in every note.
