Chick-fil-A Testing New Sandwich – When Will it Come to Louisiana?

You don't have to look around very much to figure out that Louisiana has a love affair with "yard bird". Yes, from Alexandria in the center of the state to the four corners that include Lake Charles, New Orleans, Shreveport, and Monroe, we simply love our chicken.

You're probably familiar with Popeyes. The Louisiana Kitchen that's famous for spicy chicken. We're also home to Raising Canes, one of the fastest-growing food franchises in the country. And in more than a few Louisiana communities the roadways get backed up around Chick-fil-A drive-thru's at mealtime too.

One way these fine proprietors of fried chicken stay on top of their game is through innovation. It seems as if almost every month at least one of these fried chicken franchises is offering a new drink, a new appetizer, a new side dish, or in the case of Chick-fil-A, they are test marketing a new sandwich.

What's New About the New Chick-fil-A Sandwich?

The first thing you would notice is how it looks. Chick-fil-A is test marketing a Pretzel Cheddar Club Sandwich. That's it pictured below. And yes, it features a pretzel bun instead of the traditional soft fluffy white bread bun. The new sandwich in addition to being served on a pretzel bun features a chicken breast filet, green leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, seasoned cheddar cheese, and strips of applewood smoked bacon.

The new sandwich is only available in Raleigh North Carolina beginning today. But if the test marketing suggests a positive consumer response you could see this sandwich in Louisiana Chick-fil-A locations before the end of the year.

Chick-fil-A Launches New Spring Beverages

The Chick-fil-A chain will also begin selling items off their new season spring menu today. The new Cherry Beverage line is now available nationwide and includes new drinks such as Cherry Berry Sunjoy, Cherry Berry Lemonade, Cherry Berry Iced Tea, and Cherry Berry Frosted Lemonade.

Chick-fil-A is the third largest quick-service restaurant company in the United States. The company has 54 franchisee locations in Louisiana. Texas has the most locations of the chain and the city of Houston has the most locations of the chain. There are currently 57 locations of Chick-fil-A in Houston. That's even more than Chick-fil-A's hometown of Atlanta Georgia.
