One of the hottest gifts of Christmas 2017 was the Instant Pot. Slate.com reported in November, 2017, that the cooker was created by a laid-off engineer from Canada back in 2010, but became a huge hit on Amazon in 2016. Now it's being recalled. The company says a gap between the pot and the heating plate can overheat and melt which could pose a fire hazard. Click here to find out where to find your model number and batch code and enter the numbers to see if your pot is part of the recall.

From the company's website:

If you have a recalled Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker, you should immediately stop using your Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker, unplug the unit and return it to Walmart to request a free replacement Gem 8-in-1 Multicooker. If you are not located near a Walmart store, please contact Double Insight to request a return shipping label and instructions for removing and returning the unit's power cord and rating label located on the underside of your Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker.
