I-10 Again! Those are unfortunately familiar words for motorists who use one of South Louisiana's well-traveled roadways on a daily basis. Interstate 10, when it's open and flowing it's good. Not many of us can actually recall a time when it was doing that but I am sure it's bound to have happened at least once.

However, next week will not be that time.

LaDoTD has announced plans for lane closures beginning next week in Acadia Parish. Now, these are different closures than the ones motorists will experience on I-10 this weekend in St. Martin Parish.

The Acadia Parish lane closures are set to alternate using this schedule:

**I-10 Westbound between Exit 72 (Egan) and Exit 76 - LA 91 (Iota, Estherwood) will have alternating lane closures on Wednesday, February 5, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., weather permitting.

**I-10 Eastbound between Exit 72 (Egan) and Exit 76 - LA 91 (Iota, Estherwood) will have alternating lane closures on Wednesday, February 5, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.

LaDoTD says the lane closures are necessary so that work crews can complete bridge inspections along that section of the roadway.

Just to clarify, the roadway will not be closed entirely. Through traffic will be permitted however, the travels will be reduced to a single lane in the designated work areas. Drivers of oversized vehicles or hauling oversized loads should know there will be a 16-foot lane restriction in place during the project.
