Cow Spotted Running Along Airline Highway in South Louisiana
(Ascension Parish) - You can file this story under what you do not see every day in South Louisiana: a cow running along a busy highway.
Louisiana is known for wildlife and livestock, and in recent years, we have seen animals show up in places where we'd least expect to see them. We have seen deer in major cities, bears on beaches, and so much more.
Now, we can say that we've seen a cow running loose along Airline Highway in Prairieville, Louisiana, which isn't very far from Baton Rouge.
A video posted on social media Wednesday afternoon shows a large cow roaming down Airline Highway, which, if you aren't familiar with it, is a very busy roadway, and the large animal didn't seem to be bothered by the traffic zooming by.
We don't know where the cow came from or where it was going, but all that we know is that it was turning a lot of heads as it ran, perhaps for its life.
The person filming the cow filmed it for as long as they could, and we aren't sure whether the cow has been caught or is still running free outside its pasture or trailer.
Safe Driving Tips
I'll remind you: if you ever see something like this, do not try to stop a large animal; always be very careful when filming something happening in traffic. If you do feel the need to document any incident, like a cow running along a highway, it is best to pull over to a safe place to record the incident and never record while driving.
Never put yourself or others in danger to film something happening while you're driving.
