Great American Smokeout
The American Cancer Society is marking the 38th Great American Smokeout on November 21 by encouraging smokers to use the date to make a plan to quit, or to quit smoking that day.
After just one year of not smoking, the risk of having a heart attack is half of that of someone who smokes.
By quitting — even for one day — smokers will be taking an important step towards a healthier life – one that can lead to reducing cancer risk. Even if you can't TOTALLY quit today, at least skip every other smoke break... that'll be a great start!!
