A portion of Galbert Road in Scott will be closed for over a week at its intersection with Cameron Street if weather permits.

The Traffic, Roads, and Bridges division of Lafayette Consolidated Government announced the closure in a press release earlier this morning.

According to the press release, the Galbert Road, at its intersection with Cameron Street (circled in red on the map above), need to be closed to allow for draining improvements.

...Galbert Road at its intersection with Cameron Street is scheduled to be closed on Monday, March 29, 2021 until Friday, April 9, 2021 weather permitting. LCG Public Works Drainage personnel will be installing subsurface drainage culverts. - LCG

Detour routes will be marked, and they consist of Cameron Street to Ambassador Caffery to Galbert Road, or Cameron Street to Westgate to Eraste Landry to Ambassador Caffery.

Local access will be allowed for residents and employees.

The closure is expected to begin on Monday, March 29th, 2021, and end on Friday, April 9, 2021. These dates subject to change if inclement weather hampers the improvements.
