Former Louisiana governor Kathleen Blanco is now under the care of Hospice. The Lafayette native has been battling ocular melanoma since 2011. WBRZ reports, the state legislature has released a statement that she is now under the care of hospice. Ms. Blanco told AP last December there is "no escape" from the disease. President Bush has reportedly called the former governor. He was president, and she governor, when hurricane Katrina devastated much of the gulf coast, especially New Orleans, in 2005.
