Fire Fighters on Scene of Gas Leak in Scott, Children Safe as School Evacuated

The Scott Fire Department is currently on the scene of a gas leak along Old Spanish Trail in Scott.

KATC.com reports the "leak is across from 1301 Old Spanish Trail which is St. Peter & Paul School. Students are currently sheltering in place and are safe."

St. Peter & Paul has sent information to parents instructing how to pick up students.

Old Spanish Trail between Alfred St. and Westgate Rd. is closed for the line repair.

The public is being asked to avoid the area and to stop using any gas appliances out of caution.

Crews are working to fixing the broken gas line as soon as possible, but there is no time frame given at this time.

According to KATC, The City of Scott says "the gas main break on Old Spanish Trail has affected all gas customers within Scott City Limits."
