Officer Camden Barnard is reporting for duty.

This 8-year-old boy, who was diagnosed with leukaemia, is now on the police force in Duson.

Camden thought that this was an April Fool's joke or prank, but it was not. The young boy was sworn in on Monday at the Clerk of Court Office in Lafayette and now he is ready to fight not crime, but cancer.

You can see that the Duson Police Department fitted Camden with his own uniform and even gave him the necessities to fight cancer.

While he is currently in remission, Camden continues chemotherapy treatments in Lafayette. This is such a great story and I want to applaud Chief Kip Judice for bringing a smile to Camden's face. This little boy will NEVER forget this day.

Cancer should he HIGH ALERT because Camden Barnard is coming for you!!! Go get em, Camden!
