Cecilia, Arnaudville Schools Closed Early Because of Power Outage

A power outage that's spanning parts of St. Martin and St. Landry Parishes has forced the school systems in those parishes to close a total of three schools.

KATC reports that Cecilia Primary, Cecilia Junior High, and Arnaudville Middle Schools dismissed early today because of that power outage. According to Entergy, a power pole snapped, causing the outage.

Bus riders at the Cecilia schools are en route back to their homes. Car riders will wait in the gymnasium until someone can pick them up from school. Arnaudville students will also be returned home via bus, and car riders will be allowed to wait for their rides in the gym.
