Breast Cancer and Your Weight After Menopause
A new study from the City of Hope Cancer Center in Duarte, California, suggests that losing some weight could lower your risk of breast cancer. Researchers found that women who lost weight after menopause were less likely to develop breast cancer than those who maintained or gained weight. The study included over 60-thousand women and it was learned that those who lost five-percent of body weight over a three-year period had a 12-percent reduction in breast cancer risk.
