ASO & Lafayette Science Museum Team Up For Summer Camps

Yeah!! Summer is coming!! No more super early alarms, homework, tests, or frantically searching for those clean uniforms while I’m trying to drink a hot cup of coffee!
Wait… what am I gonna do with these kids?! I refuse to have them bury their noses in phones, video games, and YouTube videos… and it’s going to be sooooo hot, so making them play outside all the time may be a bit much… oh, and I work. Acadiana Symphony Orchestra & Conservatory and Lafayette Science Museum partner to conduct an out-of-this-world summer adventure! TechBytes and SoundWaves is a unique collaboration that will have student’s exploring core elements of Science, Technology, and Music with unforgettable tours at the Lafayette Science Museum. Summer campers will also have the opportunity to be some of the first to test the brand new Virtual Reality exhibit yet to be opened to the general public.

COST:

$200 Tuition per camp per student | Early Extended Care available for additional $25 (8 am drop off). Some discounts can be applied for registering more than one student

Tech Tunes | June 5- 9
Where music and virtual reality collide. Campers will get creative with music technology as they are inspired to make their own music. Did we mention that students will be the first to test LSM's brand new virtual reality exhibit?! Register for this adventure today!

Camp Cosmos | June 12-16
Be a Star amongst the stars while campers discover the spark inside themselves. There will be space adventures, planetarium visits, and a talent show where students can express dance, music, art, and creativity.

Zoo-kulele | July 10-14
Ukes, Bugs, and Bones, Oh my! Our Ukes & You summer camp has returned with a buggin' twist. Campers will have the opportunity to learn tunes on the ukulele while discovering facts about the many giants and tiny critters that LSM has to offer on display! All levels of experience are welcome, and thanks to Lafayette Music Company, ukuleles are provided to use for all campers!

School of Rocks | July 17-21
Palaeontology & Percussion puts an innovative spin to music education. Campers will uncover the rhythm of rocks, plants, and animals while having hands-on experience with the percussion family.
