The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Wednesday, April 29th.

There are now 27,660 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That number is up 374 since yesterday.

Numbers show that there are 1,629 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized- an decrease over 37 since yesterday.

244 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is the same as yesterday.

The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,802.

As of today, 17,303 COVID-19 patients are presumed recovered.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,498 with 124 deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 451 cases, 20 deaths (They are up five cases, some number of deaths)
Iberia Parish:248 cases, 19 deaths (They are up one case and one death)
St. Martin Parish: 228 cases, 16 deaths (They are up two cases and one death)
St. Mary Parish: 185 cases, 20 deaths (They are up three cases)
St. Landry Parish: 172 cases, 39 deaths (They are up two cases and two deaths)
Acadia Parish: 130 cases, 9 deaths (The numbers are the same as yesterday)
Evangeline Parish: 49 cases (They are up three cases)
Vermilion Parish: 35 cases, 1 death (The numbers are the same as yesterday)

There is more widespread representation throughout the state as all 64 parishes now have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,802. New Orleans continues to be the hardest-hit area of the state. The next update is due out tomorrow at noon.
