The Acadiana Symphony Orchestra is hosting a virtual musician-focused fundraiser, May Day, on Friday, May 1st.

With the coronavirus pandemic restrictions still in place, most Acadiana musicians have been without work; this May Day event is an effort to help make up for their loss in revenue.

This mini-concert series will feature a different Acadiana Symphony musician or ensemble performance each hour, beginning at 9 AM. There will even be a surprise national artist who has ties to Acadiana popping in to thank you for your support.  You can watch the May Day performances on Facebook and Instagram.

If you've enjoyed any ASO performance, whether it was at a public event, a private ceremony, huge concerts supported by big names like Randy Jackson (Zebra), Lauren Daigle, Steve Riley, or Roddie Romero & the Hub City All Stars, you'll enjoy tomorrow's May Day.

Speaking of Steve Riley, following ASO's day-long fundraiser on May 1st is one of the DTA! House Sessions featuring Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys, presented by Evangeline Maid. Steve, being an avid ASO supporter, was scheduled to perform alongside Acadiana Symphony Youth Orchestra during Festival International de Louisiane this year. Combining efforts with DTA! and creating a festive day of music to share with the Acadiana community and beyond just made sense.
