7 Day Staples Project Aims To Help Those In Need

Throughout Acadiana families are suffering because they can't afford to get the basics they need to provide for their families, and Catholic Charities of Acadiana has started 7 Day Staples Project to try to help feel the gap.

Imagine if you just can't make ends meet, and maybe you don't even have access to get to a food bank? Officials with the Diocese of Lafayette says they are hearing from so many individuals and families who are currently in this situation.

If you begin a partner, and adopt a family, then you will be able to give them enough of the basic food necessities that they need for a week.

For a donation of $35 through FoodNet Food Bank, you will be providing a family with a box of food. You can click here to donate.

The food will be distributed by volunteers who will drop off the items to the families in need. The families will be able to get what they need without any contact.

Chief Communications Officer for Catholic Charities of Acadiana Ben Broussard says,

Through our conversations with partner pantries throughout Acadiana, we are discovering pressing needs where access to food has been limited. The 7 Day Staples Project aims to directly address the food needs in these key areas today while setting the stage as needs inevitably arise in the future.

The partnership to make this project happen is coming with the help of Second Harvest Food Bank and then when items need to be purchases, they will be able to buy the items wholesale through Adrien's Supermarket.
