Suicide is the second leading cause of death among adolescents and the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why has put a new focus on the epidemic.
The Family Tree presents licensed professional counselor, Melissa Bowen, will speak to parents about the content of the Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why, and how to begin a meaningful dialogue about the issues of rape, bullying, suicide, drunk driving, and more that are depicted in the series. The free presentation is Monday, July 10 from 5 - 830 p.m.
Following this presentation, Tiffany Capps, MS, LPC with the Jacob Crouch Foundation will provide free training to help adults recognize and react to suicide warning signs."
