1-Year-Old in Serious Condition After Being Struck By Vehicle in Lafayette

A one-year-old child is in serious condition after being struck by a car last night on Sweetbriar Street in Lafayette.

Capt. John Mowell with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says that a child was struck by a car around 8:45 pm on Thursday night.

The child was transported to a local hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.

Mowell says a suspect, Joseph Broussard, was arrested and charged with OWI 1st Offense, Felony Hit & Run and First Degree Vehicular Negligent Injuring.
