Your Deodorant Is Killing You, But You Smell Good

The personal care industry doesn’t really want you to know the truth, but the truth is, your deodorant is killing you.

Aluminum is what you hear about most but deodorants contain many other toxic chemicals.  Aluminum Chlorohydrate, Parabens, Propylene Glycol, Triclosan, TEA, DEA, FD and C colors, Talc just to name a few.

The FDA is dragging it’s feet on testing and regulation.  Fact is, the harmful chemicals in deodorants are being linked to cancer, Alzheimer’s and allergic reactions.

Dr. Kevin from Wellness Wednesdays on KTDY has even talked about how harmful these chemicals are to our bodies.  Especially aluminum.  Dr. Kevin suggests if you use aluminum pots to cook with, as many do here in Acadiana, use a wooden spoon to stir so that you don’t get small particles of aluminum in your food.

There are many natural products on the market now that do an excellent job at controlling body odor and aren’t toxic.  Make the change yourself, and take the time to educate your children of the health risks of traditional deodorants.
