United Blood Services
is recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a t-shirt giveaway during the month of October. The 'I Bleed Pink For A Cure' t-shirts will be given to all donors who donate blood this month.

United Blood Services believes it is extremely important for businesses to educate the Acadiana community on the life-saving impact blood donation has on breast cancer patients.

According to local donor recruitment representative Jason Connor, 'one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer in their life-time and in 2014, and approximately 2,240 men will develop or have developed the disease.  Many of these patients will need blood, sometimes daily, during their chemotherapy treatments. Donating blood is a beautiful way to support these strong individuals in their fight.”

Blood donors must be at least 16 years old and in good health. Additional height/weight requirements apply to donors 22 and younger, and donors who are 16 must have a signed permission from a parent or guardian.

The United Blood Services donor center is located at 1503 Bertrand Drive and is open 7 days a week for your convenience. Click here or call 1-877-827-4376 to schedule your donation appointment.
