July 18, 2012 There will be a casting call for The History Channel's program "Swamp People" on August 4th at Bootleggers on Jefferson Street.
If you live in the 'swamp', have a legitimate Louisiana Alligator Hunter License and at least 50 Alligator Harvest Tags, you are eligible! Bring your mom 'n 'em.

May 14, 2012 The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office has confirmed that 'Swamp People' cast member Mitchell Guist has died. Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that Guist was loading something onto a boat on Belle River when he slipped and fell.
March 6, 2012 Troy and Jacob Landry from the History Channel's smash hit show 'Swamp People' will be at the IceGators game this Friday night. They'll will take part in the ceremonial puck drop at 7:05pm when the IceGators faceoff again
July 6, 2011 Royal newlyweds Prince William and Duchess Kate will be traveling to California on their first official overseas visit, on Friday July 9, 2011. They'll be attending posh events in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara including a U.K. Government-sponsored dinner and a Polo benefit.
