A funeral Mass and burial will take place on Thursday, October 6 for retired New Orleans Archbishop Philip Hannan, who died last week at the age of 98. The Mass will be held at St. Louis Cathedral in the city's French Quarter, where the Archbishop's body will be laid to rest beneath the floor of the Cathedral's altar.

Are Sales Down for Britney Spears’ Latest Tour?

You've got to take it with a heavy grain of salt, considering the source, but rumors are circling that large numbers of seats are going unsold on Britney Spears' Femme Fatale tour , including her Friday night show in New Orleans -- despite heavy discount deals being offered by Groupon.

According to a report published in the National Enquirer, Spears isn't even aware of the Groupon deals. A source says "Britney thinks everything is going great" and calls her "clueless." Insults aside, it does seem unlikely that LiveNation would be offering half-off tickets to the shows if they were selling out at their regular prices.

This time Louisiana made a list we want to be on! Sperling's BestPlaces and Edge Shave Gel have compiled a list of the 'Top 50 Cities on the Edge of Greatness.'  The categories examined: (1) the City, including an analysis of the job market, housing cost and appreciation, population, percentage of young people, education level, income and investment in green living; (2) Music, identifying the most independent, homegrown music scenes; (3) Arts, examining artists per 100,000 population, paired with the presence of local art institutions; (4) Hometown Sports Heroes, the percentage of pro football, baseball or basketball players born in each city beginning in 1990 (New Orleans was #3 in this category); and (5) Alternative Sports, analyzing interest in alternative sports such as skateboarding, snowboarding, motocross, BMX, X games, ultimate fighting/martial arts, professional lacrosse and soccer.
