Most people die of cardiac arrest at home, work or in a public location because they didn't receive immediate CPR from someone on the scene. You don't have to be an EMT or health professional to become involved by administering CPR and potentially saving a life.

If you see a young adult or adult collapse, call  9 - 1 - 1 immediately. Next, push hard and fast in the center of the person's chest to the beat of the classic disco song 'Stayin' Alive.'

Rapidly-administered CPR can more than double a person's chances of surviving cardiac arrest,  and 'Stayin' Alive' has the perect beat for Hands-OnlyTM CPR.

The AHA has created two awareness - building PSAs that encourage people to visit Heart.org and watch the Hands-Only CPR instructional video featuring the easy steps to save a life with Hands-Only CPR. The first PSA is a family dinner turned disco party, set to Street Corner Symphony's a cappella version of 'Stayin' Alive,' and the second PSA features a heckling sports fan.
