Many nursing home residents have no family nearby. Some have outlived their children and all their friends. The most needy will not receive a single gift this Christmas. We asked for your help Acadiana and again this year, you answered our plea. Shoeboxes For Seniors will make hundreds of needy seniors in our community feel special this Christmas.
Seems like it's impossible to find a Walmart Patti LaBelle Sweet Potato Pie, unless you mention you need one on the radio. I love Patti LaBelle, have seen her live in concert 14 times and have been backstage with her several times but I've never tried the diva's Sweet Potato Pie, until today!
There are always two shows going on simultaneously at KTDY, the one you hear and the one you don't. Every now and then, something behind the scenes gets caught on video.
Whenever David Faulk from Louisiana Hot Stuff comes into KTDY it's always so much fun. David and Linda Faulk have been associated with "CJ and Debbie Ray in the Morning" for right at 20 years now. We did the very first remote broadcast from their first location in Acadiana Mall. It's been a wonderful relationship. Today, before David left KTDY, we ended up with a few really special items.
Food at a radio station lasts about 5 minutes. Doesn't matter how much there is, in 5 minutes, there will be none left. Disc Jockeys and radio salespeople can sense food from a mile away. Or at least their offices. No email has to go out proclaiming it's arrival, radio people have a sixth sense, a food radar. So how is it that food was right in front of us at the radio station yesterday, and no one knew?
