Youth Sports Registration Starts Soon in Lafayette

The Lafayette Recreation and Parks Department’s open enrollment period for spring sports begins this weekend. Spring youth sports offered by the LRPD include baseball and softball (slow and fast pitch.) These programs are offered for boys and girls ages 5 to 17 depending on the sport. Baseball age groups are determined by the child’s age as of April 30, 2013, while softball is determined by age as of January 1, 2013.

Registration is taking place at each of the seven youth associations in the parish. Those associations include: BYYA (Broussard/Youngsville Youth Association), BPA (Brown Park Athletics), CSA (Cajun Sports Association), CAYSI (Carencro Area Youth Sports Incorporated), SATS (Scott Area Team Sports), SLYSI (South Lafayette Youth Sports Incorporated), and SWA (Southwest Athletics).
