Will California Secede From The United States Of America?

The movement to get a petition going to secede from the US has been accepted by California lawmakers.

Fox News reports that a movement called Yes California Independence Campaign has received permission from the California Secretary of State to issue a petition for California to secede from The United States. Yes California calls its mission 'Calexit' and gave these reasons for wanting California to be a separate country:

"In our view, the United States of America represents so many things that conflict with Californian values, and our continued statehood means California will continue subsidizing the other states to our own detriment, and to the detriment of our children," the Yes campaign's website says.
