Another warning is going around on social media and this time we want those in Louisiana to be aware of this potential danger.

Monique Nece Boose Long shared a photo on Facebook and it shows a zip tie attached to the rim of a vehicle. She says that a family member noticed the zip tie on the rim after being out and in public and that is when they notified police.

According to the viral social media post, the zip time could have been put on the vehicle by someone who engages in drug or sex trafficking.

The thought is the person who may have put this on the rim wants it to distract you from your surroundings while they move in closer to you. This isn't the first time we have seen or heard about these types of distractions on vehicles, so the point is, if you notice anything odd on or around your vehicle, simply get into your vehicle and do not let the object distract you while out in public.

Address the concerns at a safe location and remember to always wear proper protection when removing a foreign object from your vehicle. Sadly, some people are lacing things these days with drugs that can harm you.

Another reminder is to always be aware of your surroundings while out in public, specifically at gas pumps and in public parking lots. Police often remind us to stay off of our cell phones while out in public, as they too can be a distraction.

We share this with you so that are aware of this potential threat, and we encourage you to share this with others on social media so that they do not fall victim to this latest distraction.
