Do you have trouble sleeping? Do you sometimes feel isolated, anxious, depressed & lonely? Your smartphone is likely at least part of the problem. The New York Post reports a recent study indicates using your smartphone after 10 pm contributes to the aforementioned problems. The study indicates late night use of smartphones disrupts our circadian rhythms. These disruptions contribute to insomnia, impaired cognitive function, mood swings, loneliness & depression. The blue light from the phone's display interferes with the process of falling asleep. These factors are known to contribute to bipolar disorder, and neuroticism. The Lancet Psychiatry recommends logging off social media, and turning your phone off at 10 pm.
