Researchers at Boston University Medical Center conducted a study of 40 menopausal women that indicates wine consumption results in a reduction of "bone turnover markers", and abstinence from alcohol consumption increased these markers. These markers are an indicator of risk for osteoporosis. The study also found that resumption of alcohol consumption reversed the negative trend. Bear in mind, the participants drank two glasses per day. I'll leave the question "Is more better?" up to you.
