Like many homes, business & public facilities, Vermilionville sustained heavy damage from the historic Louisiana flood of 2016. The operations & folk roots offices were flooded with several feet of water. Fortunately, tall levees withstood the flood, protecting the historic buildings. Several events had to be cancelled. The only access was by boat for several weeks. The park is officially reopened as of 10am, Friday September 9th. Learn more at vermilionville.org.
