After two weeks the New Orleans Saints sat at 0-2 and the talk was, "trade Drew Brees and Sean Payton". Now after having beat the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and two straight wins heading into a bye week the Saints fan feels much better about their situation.

The Saints defeat the Dolphins in shutout fashion Sunday morning, 20-0.

It was all about the defense and mostly about the inability of the Dolphins offense. The only time that Miami had anything going was on their initial drive when Jay Cutler marched them down the field to the Saints 7 yard line. He then tried to float a pass to the right corner of the end zone to his big tight end Julius Thomas but Cutler left it to the wrong side of him and defensive back Ken Crawley made a play with an interception.

Fellow defensive back PJ Williams, who was supposed to start, he was sat by Sean Payton for disciplinary reasons. Last week Marshon Lattimore was out with a concussion, Ken Crawley has certainly taken advantage, and has played extremely well. Look for him to be roaming the field more often in the coming weeks.

Following the turnover the Saints offense marched right back down the field into Miami territory. There was a big penalty on a third down pass play that would have led to a first down that stalled the drive and then a missed field goal by Will Lutz followed.

So, with both teams able to move the ball but stalling deep in each others territory you figured we may have a shootout on our hands. However, what ensued was a sloppy rest of the game which amounted to a ton of penalties, 19 of them between the two teams to be exact.

Five punts followed the missed field goal before we got any kind of score on the board and it came from a made field goal by the Saints Will Lutz. Fun fact, if we would have been scoreless at halftime it would have marked the first time that happened since a game that pitted Tim Tebow and Caleb Hanie against eachother.

New Orleans would begin the second half with the football and they were finally able to find some consistency on an 11 play drive that spanned 77 yards and culminated into a three yard touchdown pass to Michael Thomas.

The rest of the game would be all punts and a turnover on downs for the Dolphins as the Saints secondary stifled the Miami offense all day long. New Orleans also added four sacks and five tackles for loss.

The Saints would tack on an additional field goal and a beautiful play design by Sean Payton to get his new favorite weapon more involved in the offense. It was a jet-sweep, play action, inside toss to Alvin Kamara and he navigated his way to pay-dirt to put the game out of reach late in the fourth quarter, 20-0.

The Saints move to 2-2 as they head into their bye-week and the Dolphins fall to 1-2 and will finally head back home for the first time to face the Tennessee Titans.
